Effercitrate Tablets are a treatment for the effects of cystitis, a urinary tract infection that affects the bladder. The tablets contain potassium citrate, which works to make the urine less acidic and less painful to urinate.

Effercitrate Tablets are used for treating the symptoms of Cystitis and as an initial therapy in cases of mild symptomatic Cystitis before obtaining results from a Midstream Specimen of Urine (MSU). Effercitrate is presented as an effervescent tablet, which upon dissolving in water, creates a solution containing Potassium citrate and Citric acid

Effercitrate tablets contain 1.5g potassium citrate and 0.25g citric acid as active ingredients.
Side effects
- An increased production of urine (this is quite normal, and shows the medicine is working).
- An upset stomach (this can be reduced by taking Effercitrate with meals or after meals).
Warnings and precautions
- Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
- Always replace the cap on your tube of Effercitrate tablets.
- Do not use Effercitrate tablets after the expiry date that is stated on the tube and on the carton after use by. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month.
