Nexium control helps adults with acid reflux, heartburn, and acid regurgitation by reducing stomach acid production for a short time.

Directions for use

  1. Nexium Control is a medication that can relieve symptoms of acid reflux, such as heartburn and acid regurgitation.
  2. It’s important to always take the medicine as described in the leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
  3. The recommended dose is one a day, and you should not exceed this dosage.
  4. It may take two to three consecutive days before you start to feel better, so don’t give up too soon.
  5. The maximum treatment length is 14 days, and you should stop taking the medicine once your reflux symptoms have subsided completely.
  6. Swallow the whole with a half-glass of water, either with food or on an empty stomach.
  7. If you have trouble swallowing, you can alternatively dissolve it in a glass of still water and drink it within 30 minutes.

What does Nexium Control contains?

  • Nexium Control contains a drug called esomeprazole that reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach, which helps relieve acid reflux symptoms.
  • Nexium also contains other ingredients to hold it together, protect it, make it easier to swallow, and color it.
  • The other ingredients include food-grade emulsifiers, coatings, lubricants, fillers, anti-caking agents, plasticizers, food dyes, and pH adjusters.

If you are planning to take Nexium Control, you should talk to your doctor first if you:

  1. Have had stomach surgery or a stomach ulcer in the past
  2. Have been treating reflux or heartburn for over four weeks
  3. Have jaundice or severe liver or kidney problems
  4. Are over 55 and experiencing new or changed reflux symptoms, or need to take indigestion or heartburn medication every day
  5. Have had a skin reaction to medicine that reduces stomach acid, similar to Nexium Control

Children and teenagers under 18 years old should not use Nexium Control. By talking to your doctor first, you can ensure that Nexium Control is safe and suitable for you, considering your personal medical history and needs.

Possible Side Effects of Nexium Control: As with any medication, Nexium Control may cause side effects, although not everyone experiences them. If you experience any of the following serious side effects, discontinue use of the medication and seek medical attention immediately:

  • Severe allergic reaction: Sudden wheezing, swelling of the lips, tongue, and throat, rash, fainting, or difficulty swallowing.
  • Skin reactions: Redness of the skin with blisters or peeling, which could be Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis. These are rare side effects and require immediate medical attention.
  • Liver problems: Yellow skin, dark urine, and tiredness are symptoms of liver problems, which occur rarely.

In addition, if you experience any of the following signs of infection, speak to your doctor as soon as possible, as the medication may, in very rare cases, affect the white blood cells, leading to immune deficiency:

  • Fever with a severely reduced general condition
  • Fever with symptoms of a local infection, such as neck or throat pain.
