Opticrom 2% Eye Drops is a medication that is specifically designed to relieve the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. This condition occurs when the eyes come into contact with pollen from grasses or trees, leading to allergic reactions such as itchy, watery, red or inflamed eyes, and puffy eyelids.

The active ingredient in this medicine is Opticrom 2%, which is an anti-allergic medication that works by preventing the release of natural substances in the eyes that can lead to allergic reactions. By blocking the release of these substances, providing relief from itching, swelling, and redness.

Opticrom 2% Eye Drops are easy to use and can be applied directly to the affected eye. The drops are suitable for adults and children over the age of six years old. The recommended dosage is two drops in each eye, four times a day, although the frequency and duration of use may vary depending on the severity of the symptoms.

The drops come in a convenient dropper bottle, making it easy to apply them accurately and hygienically. As with any medication, it is important to follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional carefully. This includes removing contact lenses before use and waiting at least 15 minutes before replacing them.

Before using this medicine, it is important to take note of the following warnings and precautions to ensure safe and effective use:

  • It is essential to confirm that your or your child’s irritated eyes are caused by seasonal allergies before using this medicine. It is recommended to seek a diagnosis from a doctor if you are uncertain about the cause of the symptoms.
  • You can identify allergic eyes caused by seasonal allergies if both eyes are affected, accompanied by a runny or blocked nose, and with no impact on eyesight. If you already know that you suffer from seasonal allergies and your symptoms coincide with the times of year when grass or tree pollen is high, you can also use this medicine.
  • However, if you or your child only have one eye affected or have no nose symptoms, and your eyesight is affected, you should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine. Similarly, if the eye symptoms occur at the wrong time of year for seasonal allergies or are likely to be caused by another allergy such as a pet or dust mite allergy, it is best to seek medical advice before using this medicine.
