Orabase Paste contains benzocaine, a local anaesthetic (numbing medication). It works by blocking nerve signals in your body.

Orabase Paste is used to numb the skin or surfaces inside the mouth.

Orabase Paste should not be used to treat teething pain in infants, and is not approved for use in a child younger than 2 years old.

Directions for use

To treat the mucous membranes of the mouth:

Apply a thin layer of Orabase paste to the affected area of the mouth using a small dab. Hold in place until it starts to stick. Don’t try to make it stick.

Use as often as necessary to maintain relief, especially after eating, or as prescribed by a doctor or dentist.

To treat ileostomies, Colostomies, ileal conduits, fistulas:

Before applying Stomahesive fluids, cover any skin imperfections such as creases or surgery scars around the stoma using Orabase paste.

When using a flange, first seal the stoma with a generous ring of Orabase paste, then pile cotton wool on top of the paste and press down towards the flange.

 

Ingredients

Gelatin 16.7%, Pectin 16.7%, Sodium carbnoxymethylcellulose 16.7% Polythene 2.5% and liquid paraffin 47.4%

Side effects

Like all medications, Orabase Paste can have side effects, although not everyone will experience them. If you experience any pain or irritation in the area where you have applied this product, stop use immediately. If irritation continues, speak to your doctor or pharmacist right away.

Warnings and precautions

Intolerance to Orabase paste is extremely rare. Should a mouth irritation or skin excoriation not heal within 7 days, consult your physician or dentist.

This product is typically dispatched within 1-2 working days from date of order

Next Day Delivery 
Due to COVID-19 we are not currently offering Next Day Delivery as our couriers are not always adhering to the delivery timescales, we will introduce this again in the future.

Prescriptions
Private prescription medicines are sent by courier, tracked 24hr delivery, free of charge (all private prescription items have a minimum order value of £5.00). NHS prescription medicines are sent by courier, tracked 24hr delivery.
Normal delivery charges will apply for non-prescription items in the same basket.
