Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup is a medication designed to treat the allergic symptoms of hayfever, such as sneezing, runny nose, and itchy or watery eyes, as well as other allergies like pet, house dust mite, and mold spore allergies. It can also be used to relieve itching and rashes caused by chronic urticaria (hives).
Some important things you need to know before taking Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup:
- Do not take this syrup if you have ever had an allergic reaction to antihistamines or any of the other ingredients listed in Ingredients Section, or if you have severe kidney problems.
- If you have an intolerance to some sugars, consult your doctor before taking this medication.
- Drinking alcohol while using Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup can increase the effects of drinking. Be cautious when consuming alcohol.
- Do not drive or operate machinery if the syrup makes you feel drowsy. While the medicine does not cause drowsiness in most people at the recommended dose, it’s important to be cautious.
- If you have kidney problems, you may need to take a lower dose of the medication.
- If you are epileptic or at risk of convulsions (fits), use this syrup with caution.
- If you are undergoing an allergy skin test, you need to wait 3 days after taking Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup.
- If you have an enlarged prostate, this syrup may increase the risk of having difficulty passing water.
- Before taking Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup, consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other prescribed or non-prescribed medication.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup.
Directions for use
If you are planning to take Piriteze Children’s Hayfever & Allergy Syrup, there are a few important things that you need to know before taking it. Here are some key points to consider:
- For adults and adolescents aged 12 years and over, take two 5 ml spoonfuls of Piriteze syrup once daily.
- For children aged between 6 and 12 years, give one 5 ml spoonful of Piriteze syrup twice daily, in the morning and evening.
- For children aged between 2 and 6 years , give half a 5 ml spoonful twice daily- morning and evening.
- For people with moderate kidney problems, take one 5 ml spoonful of Piriteze syrup once daily.
Ingredients
Each 1 ml of Oral Solution contains 1 mg of Cetirizine Hydrochloride
Also includes Sorbitol (E420), Methyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E218) and Propyl Parahydroxybenzoate (E216)
Side effects
Like all medicines, Piriteze Allergy relief syrup can have side effects, but not everybody gets them. Stop taking the medicine and seek immediate medical help if you experience:
- Sudden signs of an allergic reaction such as developing a rash, swelling of the mouth or face or difficulty breathing.
- Convulsions or fits
- Loss of consciousness
- Bruising or bleeding more easily than normal.
Common: Headache or dizziness, drowsiness or tiredness, restlessness, sore throat, dry mouth, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, nausea (feeling sick), runny nose.
Uncommon: Agitation, weakness, malaise, pins and needles, itching, rash or hives.
