This is a convenient option that can treat your thrush with only one dose. All you need to do is swallow it whole with a glass of water. Your male partner can also use this treatment if he is suffering from thrush.

Each Canesten Oral Capsule contains:

The active ingredient Fluconazole 150 mg. Each capsule also contains: lactose monohydrate & sodium lauryl sulfate.

Side effects

Like all medicines, Canesten Thrush Oral capsule can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

As with all medicines, some people may be allergic to the capsule. If you are allergic , a reaction will occur soon after you have taken it. If you experience an allergic reaction, stop using this product and tell your doctor straight away or contact the accident and emergency department of your nearest hospital.

Signs of an allergic reaction may include:

  • Rash
  • Nausea
  • Weakness, feeling dizzy or faint
  • Swallowing or breathing problems
  • Swelling of your lips, face, tongue or throat.

Warnings and precautions

  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Do not use Canesten Thrush Oral Capsule after the expiry date which is stated at one end of the carton and on the blister pack.
  • Do not use Canesten Thrush Oral Capsule if you are taking astemizole, terfenadine, cisapride, pimozide, quinidine or erythromycin.
  • Canesten Trush Oral Capsule may cause dizziness. If dizziness occurs after taking your capsule, you should not drive or use machines.
