Cetavlex Cream contains the chemical cetrimide which is effective in destroying germs. It is used as an antiseptic cream to treat skin disorders such as minor wounds, burns, cuts, and nappy rash.

Cetrimide 0.5% w/w (incorporated as Strong Cetrimide Solution BP 40%), Cetostearyl Alcohol, Liquid Paraffin, Industrial Methylated Spirit, Methyl-Parahydroxybenzoate, Propyl-Parahydroxybenzoate and Purified Water.
Side effects
Like all medicines Cetavlex cream can sometimes cause side effects, although not everybody has them.
The following side effects have been reported but how often they occur is not known:
You may notice some irritation of the skin or allergic (itchy) reaction when it is first applied.
If any of the side effects become serious, or you notice any side effects not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist.
Warnings and precautions
- Keep out of the reach of children. Keep out of the eyes and ears. Store below 30C.
- Do not use any medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
- Once you have opened the tube, do not keep it for more than 28 days.

Private prescription medicines are sent by courier, tracked 24hr delivery, free of charge (all private prescription items have a minimum order value of £5.00). NHS prescription medicines are sent by courier, tracked 24hr delivery.
Normal delivery charges will apply for non-prescription items in the same basket.
