Curanail is an effective medicinal treatment for mild fungal infections which can be used in adults aged 18 years and over.

Curanail contains amorolfine which penetrates the nail, kills the fungus and prevents further infection spreading.

It can be used if:

  • You have 1 or 2 nails infected

What Curanail contains

  • The active substance is amorolfine. Curanail contains 50mg/ ml (5%) of amorolfine equivalent to 6.4% amorolfine hydrochloride.
  • The other ingredients are ammonio methacrylate copolymer A, triacetin, butyl acetate, ethyl acetate and ethanol.

Side effects 

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. The following side effects may happen with this medicine:

Rare: may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people 

  • Nail damages, nail discoloured, fragile or brittle nails

Very rare: May affect up to 1 in 10,000 people.

  • Skin burning sensation

Not known: frequency cannot be estimated from the available

  • Systemic allergic (a serious allergic reaction that can be associated with swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat, difficulty breathing and a severe skin rash.

Do not use Curanail and speak to your doctor or pharmacist if:

    • you are allergic to amorolfine or any of the other ingredients in this medicine (see the Package Leaflet)
    • your nail is moderately or severely damaged or infected
    • you are pregnant, might become pregnant or are breast-feeding
    • you have poor blood circulation in your hands or feet
    • you have pain or swelling around the nail
    • you have more than 2 infected nails
    • you have a weak immune system
    • you are under the age of 18
    • you have diabetes

Keep all medicines out of the reach and sight of children.

Storage
Keep the pack away from heat and do not store above 30°C.
Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.

This is a medicine:

  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you have an underlying medical condition, are taking any other medication or complementary therapy, or if symptoms persist
  • Seek advice before using if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or suffer from allergies
