Kwells kids tablets are antisickness tablets for the kids to prevent from onset nausea or vomiting.

Following the updated GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council) guidelines, we are required to restrict the amount of Pharmacy Medicines, we dispense to one box per household per month.

Hyoscine hydrobromide is taken to prevent travel sickness (motion sickness).

It can also be used to reduce the amount of saliva in your mouth. This can help with symptoms if you’re having palliative care or end of life care.

Hyoscine hydrobromide comes as patches and tablets that you suck, chew or swallow. It can also given by injection, but this is usually only done in hospital.

You can buy the travel sickness tablets and patches at pharmacies.

Hyoscine hydrobromide patches and tablets for reducing excess saliva are available on prescription only.

Kwells Junior contain the following ingredients:

The active substance is hyoscine hydrobromide at a strength of 150 micrograms.

The other ingredients are mannitol (E421), potato starch, gelatine powder, aluminium stearate, and saccharin sodium (E954).

 

 

Side effects to consider before the use of Kwells Junior:

  • May cause drowsiness in some children.
  • Less frequently, there have been reports of restlessness, hallucinations and confusion. If your child is epileptic, he or she might suffer from increased seizure frequency.
  • As with all medicines, some people may be allergic to the tablets. If your child is allergic, he or she may experience difficulty in breathing, coughing, wheezing or symptoms such as rash, itching and swelling.

Warnings and precautions

  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Do not use the tablets after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and blister pack. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
