Senokot Tablets works as a stimulant laxative that gives short-term relief from occasional constipation.

Senokot contains Senna/Sennosides which work as a stimulant laxative for the short term relief of occasional constipation. Constipation is a fairly common and uncomfortable complaint. It usually
involves difficult or irregular bowel movements, accompanied by hard, dry motions which can be painful to pass. Laxatives do not help with weight loss.

Tablet containing: Senna, standardised 7.5mg.

  • Each tablet contains powdered Alexandrian Senna fruit (pods) (Cassia senna L. (C. acutifo/ia Delile)) and Tinnevelly Senna fruit (pods) (Cassia angustifolia Vahl) equivalent to 7.5mg hydroxyanthracene glycosides, calculated as sennoside B.This medicine also contains: Maize starch, calcium phosphate,  Lactose monohydrate and stearate.

Side effects 

-If laxatives are needed everyday or there is persistant abdominal pain consult your doctor.

-If you are pregnant consult your doctor before use.

-Keep out of reach of children.

-Low blood potassium levels resulting in cramping and/or weakened muscles.

-Severe weight loss.

-Allergic reactions e.g. asthma, local or widespread rash, hives.

When taking this medicine, temporary mild griping may occur. If you experience any unwanted effects or take more than the recommended dose consult your doctor or pharmacist.
